Our last day at Disney we spent at Magic Kingdom. Once again we were about and out the door by 6:15 and got there in time for Mickey and the gang to ride the steam train in and open the park. It is my absolute favorite part of Disney and it is so fun to be a part of the opening and get to walk the streets of Main street before the crowds pick up! I was glad Brad got to be here this morning since he stayed back with Sutton two days before when she had an upset tummy.
The three cousins were all in awe as Mickey rode in. The princesses were there too so Hope was in heaven.
We headed straight to Buzz while Brad got us coffees from Starbucks (who know a starbucks Venti drink is considered a snack--win for the Redds). Bobby, Amy, and Brad rode space mountain next and I stayed back with Sutton. Nana and Papa took the boys on the race cars but after the boys fought over who was riding with Papa Craw bailed...wah wah wah
After the group got back together we made our way to the Barnstormer (which we had tried to ride two previous times...it was closed down both times). So we got on and Craw is in the front and I am by myself while Amy stood back with Hope and Sutton. Well we turn the first corner and bam the ride stops. Sooo we had to wait for the fire department (who works off the grounds) to get to the magic kingdom to get us off the ride. They brought us water bottles and gave us an extra fast pass.
I know Sutton won't ever remember this trip but she was such a trooper and did so well the whole week!
Another favorite ride this day was the Magic Carpet ride. We rode it several times.
After riding that the adults split up to ride a ride while Nana and Papa kept the kids. Brad and I chose Splash Mountain (which was my favorite ride at Disney as a kid! It did not disappoint! We loved it and I wish Craw would have ridden it with us.
Then we headed to Tom Sawyer's treehouse which the kids just loved so they walked through it twice.
Nana and Papa were just the sweetest. They helped so much with the kids!
We also did Pirates of the Caribbean and the boat ride with the hilarious narrators. The kids had been begging all day to ride the People Mover. We had lunch and got stuck behind a parade before making our way to the People Mover. They just loved it!
Sutton agreed it was fun!
Craw's last ride on the monorail. He just loved it
Stuck on the barnstormer
Craw loved a good caramel macchiato
kids loved the magic carpet
We put them in it together thinking they would make the kids split up but they didn't say a word and the kids thought it was the coolest thing!
We picked out our final souvenier back at our hotel. A magic Kingdom coffee mug. We hugged Papa goodbye while the rest of the group spent the afternoon at magic kingdom. We decided to hop on the rode to see how far we could make it. The kids were tired and were both asleep within minutes of leaving the park.
We had the greatest week ever! I can't wait to go back when Sutton is older and is in awe of all the princesses. I hope we can go at a less crowded time so we can stop and take in all the magical moments Disney has to offer. It is my favorite vacation for the family and there is just nothing like it. I love all the memories we made! Nana and Papa are just the sweetest and most selfless people and they do so much for our family. We are so glad that they are healthy and able to take us on amazing vacations. We are forever grateful!
