Park City, Utah Ski Trip

Our Ski Trip really was amazing. We left GSP around 5:50 in the morning with C at Nana and Grandpas and we made our journey to Salt Lake City. We took a shuttle up to the St. Regis and were able to cash in on a free lift ticket for the day at Deer Valley. It was a perfect way to start the trip and we got about 3.5 hours of skiing in and I got to feel comfortable on skis again.
After skiing the hotel has this adorable hot chocolate station set up. Brad enjoyed a few cups of it while browsing around the beautiful hotel grounds.
We went outside around 5 pm for a champage sabering. Where they toast the guests and every has a few happy hour drinks. We met some amazing friends from Chicago out there and spent a few hours talking. We then headed inside for dinner at the hotel restaurant.
After dinner we put on our swimsuits and robes and headed down to the heated pool and hot tub. There was hardly anyone out so we enjoyed hot tubbing and then stopped by the s'more station to heat up some chocolate on graham crackers before crashing for the night.
The hotel was everything I imagined it to be and was our favorite hotel to date. Everything was so precious! We had a fireplace in our room and our room opened up to a juliet balcony overlooking a blue ski slope on Deer Valley mountains. I spent the next morning at the Remede spa and had an ammmmazing spa experience. I soaked in the giant indoor hot tub and then had an hour massage with a parafin wax treatment and cucumber slices on my eyes. I was feeling great! We then decided to ski a half day because Deer Valley was so gorgeous and there was a ski jump competition going on that we were excited to watch from the slopes.
The hotel had ski valet. This means they would fit our boots on us and then carry everything outside and where we were ready they are they to wisk you on your way. Just an added little fun that you don't get when you are staying at a house.
We really liked all the tall evergreen trees (well that's what we called them anyways-the tall Christmas trees were all over the trails). It made for beautiful runs. The other two mountains we skiied had bare trees all around and the added bonus of the Christmas trees really made for a beautiful backdrop. We also enjoyed that there were no snowboarders there. They kinda scare me. I am always afraid one is going to knock me out. (which happened 2-3 times on the other mountain.)
We met out new friends (Brittan and Vido) at High West in downtown Park city for drinks. It had just started pouring down snow and it was a beautiful view from dinner. The restaurant was "western meets modern" but a really cool place. We shared this delicous bison burger and thought it was great.
We then transitioned our trip from the St. Regis Deer Valley to a condo right at the base of Park City Mountain Range. We had 3 other couples join us for the remainder of the trip. We were all excited to get out there the next morning because we had gotten a few inches of snow and were hoping for some great runs.
Brad, Meg, and I skiied and everyone else boarded. It was crazy to see the differences. I felt like the snowboarders spent a lot of time getting there boards on after getting off of a lift. It was interesting to see how much harder the boarding looked to me than my little skis that I could pizza wedge with when necessary!
Brad and I before hitting the slopes.

The guys (Tyler, Brad, Coop, and Zach)
I really loved that all the couples stuck together. It made for a fun vacation!
Every day Tyler was our tour guide. He was great at leading us to the different runs. I had never met him before and the first morning they got there he was like okay guys we're going to start with an easy blue square (I was thinking easy blue square oh I am in for some trouble). Well turns out he really was great at leading us down doable runs. Except that time he took us down the black diamond mogul run trying to get us back to our place...yeah I was just a little scared. I was literally sweating by the bottom (I guess my adrenaline was pumping).
We had the best times ever! We are sooooo forever grateful that Brad's parents gave us such an amazing vacation while keeping C. We got to skype with him twice a day. Below I am on the phone getting ready to skype and it made the trip so worthwhile to see C so happy back at home!
We had lunch mid mountain with the group on day 2.
I think I was always the first one in the hot tub! There is nothing better than sitting in a hot tub after skiing all day. It's even better when it's snowing out. It was a little disappointing that it didn't snow more. However, there was snow all over the place so you could kinnnnda forget it wasn't snowing.
We were excited for our first night "out" in Park City. We stayed in and cooked spaghetti the first night with the group and decided to venture out our second night.
I love that the girls enjoyed a glass of wine with me!
 The group at dinner.
This was our 5th day skiing---I decided to venture out with all the guys as we were going to try out the Canyons. Our camera died so no pictures from that day. It was a very new mountain resort. We really loved everything at the base of the moutain verry cute! I really enjoyed the runs here as well. We experienced some ice on one side of the mountain so we went to the other side and had much better conditions. I was definitely the slowest perosn this day. We only went down blues and while the guys were doing jumps I was saying prayers that I made it down the mountain in one piece. At one point we got to the top of lift and the single blue square was closed so I had to go down a double blue. I really think it was more challenging than the black. After a few falls and a racing heart I literally slid down the mountain on my butt and was very discouraged.-ha. I am sure so many skiiers got a great chuckle out of me! It was a fun day and I really enjoyed the challenge. I could ski, hot tub, drink wine and repeat every day. It really it my favorite type of vacation and I see many more ski trips in our future!
If you look close you can see our awesome game of UNO. We all got along so well and it was great sharing a trip with friends.
Brad and I on the ski lift. I think it was really cold on the lifts and made picture taking on the lift rare!
Here is a picture of the St. Regis from the slopes. It was crazy that from the base of Deer Valley you can't even see this huge hotel sitting up on the mountain. We just can't say enough things about our experience there.
We skiied down all the way into downtown Park City --which is so cool! The lift back up the mountain is literally fooorever but it's neat seeing the town and the mountain ahead--it was a great ski city with the 3 different mountains all within 10 minutes of each other.

I think we are already planning our next ski vacation---Tahoe anyone?! We loved every second of our vacation and again owe it all to Brad's parents for spoiling Crawford and taking such good care of him. He's a lucky little guy. They were all waiting for us when we landed and we could see them in the garden at the airport waving to us as we taxied in...a great trip for sure!

14 Months

I still can't believe that you are now walking everywhere. I guess right after you passed your 13 month birthday you entertained everyone at Nana and Grandpa's walking from one side of the room to the other. The next day you were walking everywhere. I kept thinking you would be crawling forever but it took all the praise and attention and you were so proud of yourself!
Above you are getting into everything. You love anything and everything that is NOT a toy. You love the remote and the phone and we can't even fool you with a broken remote you are just too smart to be fooled by that. You love cords and cabinets and anywhere that you can get into trouble!
Above you are at a gymboree play and learn class. It is so cute to watch you play and accomplish the tasks. A little cheesy --yes but adorable nonetheless.
Again trying to get the remote...You can spot it a mile away!
At the park with daddy while mommy worked a weekend. He said you loved every second of it.
At Nana's in the swing. You love running around in their backyard--swinging and playing with the sandbox.

These were right after you started walking. I took you outside and you had a hayday pushing that thing all over the cul-de-sac. It was precious to watch you speed up and slow down!

14 Month Stats:
  • Weight- 22 pounds
  • Height-
  • You wear 12-18 month clothes. 12 month longalls, 18 month sleepers
  • You sleep from 9ish to 9ish. You take 2 naps-- 1 at 11ish and 1 around 4
  • You love bath time and we still give you baths every single day
  • You are not the best eater anymore wah wah wah. It was fun while it lasted. I think your diet consists of fruit and us trying anything and everything to get you to eat veggies and protein. You will eat nothing off of a spoon so anything we feed you must be in bite size pieces. You love clementines, mandarin oranges, you were loving bananas and watermelon (that's gone right now), grapes, strawberries. You were loving grilled cheeses and even that is hit or miss. You will always eat french toast. You love milk and water. I think only grandpa and nana give you juice (I know mean ole mommy). I can occasionally get you to eat peas. You love chicken nuggets and pizza (go figure right?!) Anyways not the best food month for our great little eater.
  • You said your first word "nana" referring to a banana and you were crrrrazy about them until you got a little cold and now I think you just say "nana" when you are hungry so we understand to not waste another banana-ha
  • You are way closer to saying dada than mama. Whenever I tell you to say dada you say "heyda"
  • You know hot ...when your food is hot you say "ha"
  • You know how to blow on your food to cool it down.
  • You learned how to blow kisses although you do it with the back of your hand--still precious
  • You learned how to clap --again we just get so tickled with all that you learn
  • You know when we say we are going "bye-bye" to walk to the door.
  • When we ask you if you want milk you walk to the fridge.
  •  You can get down off of our bed
  • You have been blowing bubbles in the tub for a little bit but I don't think I have documented it. I love that you will put your face in the water and can't wait to get you in the pool.
  • When it's time to go upstairs you head straight for the stairs.
  • When it's time for night-night you wave night-night to daddy and go to your crib.
  • You started pulling us to toys with you so we can play. It's too cute when you grab our fingers and pull us to your laptop.

Disney Trip #2

Well Sissy and I decided to take Crawford on a sissy bonding trip and what better place to go then back to Disney. Sis caught on a stomach bug and spent the whole first day and night in bed. I felt so bad for her and I knew C and I needed to get out of her hair. We decided to head to SeaWorld for the first day and postponed our Magic Kingdom day. These pictures posted backwards so this whole trip is in reverse of how we did them. We were waiting in the train station below for the fireworks show to start. C started really walking just a few days before the trip. I was sorta scared that all he would want to do was run around and not sit in the stroller. However, he did much better in the stroller this trip than when he was 10 months old. But when we would take him out he wobble all over the place and he was so cute!
We changed C halfway through the day because it got so warm and here we are waiting on the tram to take us back to our car so he could take a nap and we could check into our new hotel.
He loved all the rides and this trip we spent more time watching parades.
Here we are watching the show in front of the castle it really is "so magical." I can't wait for C to really appreciate it one day!
                                                                 Carousel with Aunt Cat.
 It's a Small World ride.

We had breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table (Inside the Castle). I just never know if I will have any little princesses of my own so I thought until Crawford is old enough to object to me taking him to a princess breakfast we had to go with it.

The princesses were so sweet and all spent time trying to elicit a good response from C.
I loved hearing all the girls get so excited for Belle. It was so cute to watch the princesses prance around and act so proper.
The Snow White pose---she would approach every table just like that.
During every seating they flash the lights on and off and have the girls wave their wands and the boys their swords and play Disney princess music. The also place a wishing star on your table and have everyone make a wish. So cute!

All ready for our day at Magic Kingdom. I couldn't wait to see how excited C was to see Mickey. He was a happy camper all day long.

The  below pictures are from our day at SeaWorld. I was really nervous taking C to a park all by myself. He did amazing. I mean he let me tote him around in the stroller and would sit on my lap for all the shows. We saw every animal show and he just watched in amazement. It was surprisingly easy and really fun having a day with C. They have so many rides there now. I was watching people rush from roller coaster to another and C and I just strolled except for stopping at the sea animal carousel.
The night before sissy fell ill we headed out to Downtown Disney and enjoyed watching all the live music.
I couldn't believe that I forgot to get C Mickey Ears last trip but then after having these on for 30 seconds I remember that C hates things on his head.
Crawford enjoying some of mommy's dole whip float. I read about these all over disney blogs and it really was a highlight of our last trip. So delicious and the line is always soo long.

I loved watching C's reactions to the dolphins and whales. SeaWorld was literally my favorite place growing up because I always dreamt of being a dolphin trainer and I really just loved this place so much. It was so fun to share with Crawford. I hope he loves sealife as much as his mommy.
This was about halfway through our day at MK he was out !
Bringing the blanket it was key to getting C to sit in the stroller and I have no idea how I didn't think of this last trip. I carried him in the baby bjorn all day every day last trip and this was so much more enjoyable!
Checking out the Bohemian hotel back porch. It was on some water in the town of Celebration and it was the cutest little town.
Craw--sissy and I had an amazing trip and just doted on you the whole time. You were so easy and made 2 --9 hour drives as easy as possible. You didn't fuss and just went along with the day's plans. We loved sharing this trip with you and I loooove Disney and can't wait for many more trips with you there!
