16 and 17 Months

Crawford - I can't believe  I have missed a month! You are constantly learning new words and I just can't believe I let a month slip by without an update. You are ALWAYS on the go. There are very few moments in the day when you sit still (but luckily when you do you suck your fingers, hold your blanky, and cuddle with mom or dad --and we absolutely love it!) You are so funny and keep us laughing all day long!
Here you are at Aunt Cats in the bath tub---one of your favorite times of the day!
We stayed with Aunt Cat back in April and you just loved being in her apartment. You would run around and get into absolutely everything but then you also have your downtime in the mornings where you watch a Disney show (either Mickey Mouse, Little Einsteins, or Jack and the Never Land Pirates).
Usually the only time I get pictures is when you are having Crawford down time because it's the ONLY time you will sit still. I hate that you always have your fingers in your mouth for these pictures but it's also your sweetest times as well!
In the mornings before I go to work we do lots of dancing to music on mommy's Iphone.
Here you are with Aunt Cat -eating fruit and watching Mickey.
When mommy works late on Friday nights daddy usually takes you to Jazz on Main. We always knew you would be a wild man walking all over the place this year (as you calmly sat in your stroller last year) but daddy said you were a hoot. You were hula hooping and dancing up close to the stage by the band--I am sure daddy was exhausted after this trip!
I love holding you in my lap and letting you eat. You are just so sweet and it's usually when I can get you to try new foods.
Here I am holding you at Aunt Cat's - we were on her porch sharing some pad thai and you looooved it!

Here you are at Carter's first birthday. Yall were at the park and you had a ball!
One of your favorite activities is taking everything out of a drawer and then putting it all back. You did this about 3 times at Aunt Cat's --with all of her perfume.
See --when we try to get a picture of you in action it is blurry because you don't stay still! : )
You and I take a walk at least 2-3 times a week when I get off work. You usually arch your back and throw a big ole fit getting in your stroller but once we get going you are so calm and sometimes even fall asleep!
The past 2 months have been soo exciting! You have learned so much and you really understand what we are saying to you. I can tell this will be a difficult time for you because you can't always communicate to us what you want or need. It often results in some tantrums.

Stats:
  • Weight--
  • Height-
  • You wear a size 4 diaper
  • You wear 12-18 months, 18 months, 18-24 months (your jammies are 2T because they run snug)
  • You sleep from 9ish to 8ish and were taking 2 naps until about a week ago. Now you are taking one nap from about 11-1. Every other day or so you still take an afternoon nap for about an hour.
  • You have learned a lot of body parts. You can point to your eyes, ears, mouth, nose, fingers, toes, belly button. It melts my heart to watch you show us!
  • You loveee your animal sounds and can do cow (roooo), chicken (baah, baahk), pig (scrunch your face and make snorting sound), snake (ssssss)
  • You looove eating off a fork or spoon
  • You are quite the picky eater. Some days you eat a ton and other days it's just fruit.
  • You always eat french toast for breakfast and drink your milk the rest of the day is a toss up.
  • You started eating the fruit/veggie pouches again so we can usually get 1-2 of those in you every day as well
  • You usually just drink milk or water unless grandpa or nana are around -they like to give you juice
  • You love every fruit we ever try. You won't eat veggies. Meat is a toss up depending on the day.
  • You love bath time with mommy.
  • You are happiest when you are outside. You constantly want to be outside and run to the door multiple times a day trying to get out.
  • You stomp when you are angry and have started throwing mini tantrums
  • You hate sitting in a high chair so going out to eat is interesting. We usually don't take you out much becuase you just want to be running around so we usually just hang out at home and play inside or outside and you stay pretty content.
  • You looove your grandpa and we are so grateful every day for the wonderful care he provides for you day in and day out. If you turn out half as good of a man as grandpa you have a bright future ahead.

WE love you Craw and we are so excited to wake up to your chipper voice in the morning and there is nothing more special than cuddling with you before bed. You bring us more joy than you will ever know!

Alison's Bachelorette Party in Miami

Alexis, Alison, Cindy, me, and Hewy
All the girls-- Jaclyn, Alison, Hewy, Jenny, me, Alexis
 view from our room
Jenny and I toasting at STK
Well I'm a little behind blogging but I had to write about the first real girl's weekend I have had since Crawford was born. It was to celebrate Alison's bachelorette party. We have been friends since freshman year of college and we were so excited to celebrate with her. She has been living in LA and we haven't gotten to see her much since college so it was a wonderful get together! We had an amazing view and suite at the Gansenvoort South Beach. We spent the days lounging at the pool and jenjoyed our nights out on the town. The first night we had dinner at the Fountainbleu (which is on my bucket list of hotels to stay at--there is sooo much going on all the time and the property is gorgeous). We then got VIP service at a club and had a great time celebrating Alison. On Saturday, we spent more time at the beach and then had dinner at STK (which we also had when we visited Alison out in LA). It was amazing and we shared many bottles of wine, enjoyed our filets and moved up to the room to throw a shower for Alison on the room. We played some bachelorette games and then headed out again and ended up at the same club because we had such a good time. Confetti would rain from the ceiling and we all enjoyed dancing and being reunited.

Crawford's First Haircut

Aunt Cat and I decided that at the ripe ole age of 16 months--it was time for Crawford to get a haircut. We headed to the Avenue in East Cobb and couldn't wait to get his hair cut at Snip-its. When we walked in Craw was immediately amazed with all the tvs.
He didn't know what was about to happen. He is started to get a littttle nervous.
As the sweet hairdresser (Holly) began to buckle him in -he lost it!
Poor guy couldn't believe we were buckling him in and putting a cape on him.
It's a rough life for little Craw!
We really were trying everything to distract him but he wasn't having any of it!
Finally, some keys caught his attention and he was loving "locking" the doors of the imaginary keys.

He then proceeded to do very well as she cut his hair and started making him into a little boy!
We even got a few smiles....

He wasn't too sure of the buzzer when she turned it on...

She won him over shortly thereafter.

Aunt Cat and I were so proud of little Craw.

Although she cut off his adorable little curls, she shaped up his hair nicely and we were all happy!
Craw was having some fun after his haircut.

His hair that will obviously go in his baby book.

The last surprise was a token Craw got. He had to drop it in this machine to get a surprise.
We will always remember his precious curls and his crazy flyaways but we are loving our handsome little boy and his new haircut!
