27-28 Weeks

We have been out of the town the past few weekends and have had a great time. We started out in Knoxville where we arrived just in time to see our newest nephew Blake be born. We had a great time watching the girls and I also got to attend Meghan's first baby shower for baby Luke while I was there and man it was just perfect! Ryan and Hayden were a blast and they always do a great job entertaining both Brad and I and baby Crawford (as they call him). The next weekend we headed to Marietta to visit Sissy and had a great time back in East Cobb (we might have driven around to all my favorite spots as I just love seeing how fast it changes. We stopped by our old house and had breakfast at J. Christophers...I always forget how much there is to do and see in Marietta...I love going back and it makes me miss East Cobb but at the same time it seems so big and overwhelming when I think about having a family there...we are happy where we are for now but I looove going to visit! Jenny and Alexis got to visit and we sat by the pool and drank some much needed wine at the pool before heading to dinner at Red Sky. It turns into a dueling piano bar at 9 and we had such a great time there...might be a great spot for a girl's weekend next time I am there. Brad got to play golf while we were there and Crawford got his first taste of floating in raft in the pool and he loved it! We love traveling on the weekends but I do believe it has messed with this sleeping schedule and he has been awake at least once a night for the past few weeks...hoping to fix it soon as we are on night 2 of no wake ups so crossing our fingers it was just a phase. We are trying solid foods for the first time and he hated green beans as you can tell from the pictures below. He took to sweet potatos a little better and we will just round out the vegetable before moving to fruits.

This has been a great age for C and his exersaucer and he finally can reach all the toys and either messes with them or tries to eat them...either way it keeps him entertained long enough to clean the kitchen up.

Trying green beans...he was a smart little guy and wouldn't open his mouth and turned his head when he saw the spoon coming (this is the guy who grabs at anyyyything and puts it in his mouth so those green beans must have not been good!)
He's reminding us that all he has eaten for 6 months is milk ...green beans would not be my first choice either buddy!

A brave first bite!

Poor guy thinks we tricked him...

Aunt Cat and C in the pool..he loved every second in the pool

I'm so excited that C is big enough for this float because he just floated around for an hour in that thing...now we just need a pool close by!

Another baby item that just got good for us...he finally took to liking the johnny jumper...he really likes this and will twist and turn and talk and he just loves this thing

Happy First Father's Day....Crawford told him he has done a great job by giving him an iPad and I was so excited that we pulled off the surprise so well!

Here he had NO idea what his present was about to be!

Hayden was the sweetest little thing for us...I just wanted to pack her in the car and take her home with us...she doesn't fuss and is just so happy with everything...she was great the pool and dinner and took baths well and when it was time to read stories and go to bed she didn't utter a peep..she is soo stinking cute and just loves baby "traford"

Here we are outside of Corinne's house just hanging out before bedtime...I can't believe I don't have a picture of Blake to post

Ryan on the other hand is a character...I mean she has attitude and knows what she wants and when she wants it...but at the end of the day she is soo sweet and I love and miss her all the time! She had a slumber party in the room Brad and I slept in so that she could be close to us....I can't believe she's almost 5!

She is so sweet with Crawford and always wants to hold him or talk to him in this sweet baby voice (as if she is the adult talking to the baby cracks me up!)

Getting the girls ready for the pool...Hayden's bathing suit is soo cute and reminds me why I just love little girls things they are just soo precious! I would be broke right now

The girls kissing C good morning...little girls are sooo sweet!

6 months

Crawford you have definitely become aware of your surroundings over the past month. You are a joy to watch grow and change each day. You brighten up my mornings and I fall asleep peacefully just knowing that you are sleeping so sound. I love each day I have with you and I truly am thankful for each minute I spend with you.

6 Month Stats

Weight - 15.5 lb (12%)

Height- 27 inches (70%)

  • You drink 6 ounces (usually 3-4) from your bottles while mommy is at work and you nurse some mornings and always at night.

  • You sleep from about 9ish to 8ish

  • You wear 6 month and 6-9 month clothes and size 2 diapers

  • Oh you still aren't a very good napper but when I am home you will generally take a 30-45 minute nap in the early morning and then a 1-2 hour nap in the afternoon. You always fall sleep in the car but the second we take you out your eyes pop open. You just don't like napping and the pediatrician assured me that you are going to turn out just fine (even due to your lack of sleep...but it just helps explain your extreme fussiness as the day goes on...don't worry we still love your despite your fussy attacks!)

  • You discovered your feet earlier in the month and at this point can get your whole foot in your mouth. You also love sitting with the soles of your feet touching and it is just precious

  • You have learned what a cough is ...so you often like to fake cough and it is very funny

  • You began to sleep on your tummy this month (after making mommy a nervous wreck for a few nights I have accepted the fact that you can indeed breathe even though your head is smooshed against the matress). We have found you in the strangest positions in your crib but nonetheless you sleep well and really enjoy your tummy (you will flip to your stomach within seconds of us placing you on your back)

  • You also have begun to wake up sometimes in the night ---I usually just come in there and rub your back for about a minute and then you go right back to sleep if I don't hear you in time then you are wide awake and I generally have to feed you...I thought it was a little phase but it has lasted several weeks now

  • You still love putting everything in your mouth (although no signs of any teeth yet). You can distinguish baby toys from adult objects and of course you always want our things (phones, keys, remote, silverware, paper, mail, magazines ...you name it)

  • You can sit up on your own now and seem very strong ...if you weren't so into evvverything you would probably last a while sitting up...however you are more interested in keeling over trying to grab something

  • You love being fed water from a straw...you want more more more...can't wait to start letting you practice with water in your first sippy cup (right now you just chew the cup!)

  • You did not try any baby food this month...I kept you on breastmilk and was hoping your digestive track matured over the month...we will venture out to get veggies in the next few days (doctor told us to just not try rice cereal right now if it was bothering your stomach)

  • You still LOVE bath time...I always lay you on the animal quilty and you get so excited for bath time...usually this is your fussy time of the night but you always calm right down when we put you in the tub...you love kicking your legs and throwing your face into the water until you start coughing but hey I like that you aren't scared of water on your face

  • You can almost launch yourself out of the bumbo and I am pretty sure you would if we weren't standing very close by

  • You can get yourself in crawling position but aren't quite sure what to do from there (we are okay with that I can't even imagine life with you once you're on the go!)

  • You still love walks in your stroller and being rocked to sleep ...gotta love that movement

  • You rub your eyes when you are sleepy

  • Hey mom I can grab my feet

that animal you're holding trying to get me to smile is working...

alright lady with the camera that's enough of that...I need a break

hey maybe can I hold your camera and eat it ...it sure looks good

hmmm how do I reach that toy on my nightstand?

ok so in his 6 months of existence not once has he fallen asleep on daddy....this is the picture I have waited months to have this picture

alright mommy I'm ready to go see my babysitter for the day

full belly what else could a little guy ask for?

He is so chill in the mornings...

this is how I find him most mornings...this is why I was a nervous wreck when he first started sleeping on his belly...I mean really how is he breathing?

play time = grabbing mommy and daddy's face and hair

that drool is awesome

mid -roll over

24-26 weeks

We have had a fun and busy past couple of weeks. We have taken the boat out twice (both times C joined us and he looooved it!) We also visited Corinne and got to see my precious little nieces who I am obsessed with. Crawford is so happy these days and we have really had a fun past couple of weeks watching him discovering everything around him. He rolls all over the place and eats everything and loves finding new things that he can reach and put into his mouth.

Here is Ryan and C ....she was so loving and had fun helping me take care of him

C and I on the boat...he wasn't too found of the life jacket that pretty much engulfed him so I stayed under the shade and held him most of the day

gotta love C's ears

Hayden turned 2 so Corinne had a little party for her and she was just cute as a botton running all over the place and I just want to eat her up

C loved all of the kids and noise around all weekend at Corinne's and pretty much never wanted to take a nap from all the excitement going on

Hayden followed C all around and would say "baaby" in this hilarious creepy baby voice that made us watch as she would follow him in a daze and she repeated "baby....baby" over and over

Ryan always the entertainer...

I mean how much fun is it getting C ready for the pool...I don't think kids bathing suits could be any cuter

Watching Ryan and Hayden love on C was so sweet. Hayden kept trying to pick him u p and turn him over...I think she thought he was her baby doll and it was very entertaining

Ryan loves posing for the camera...she just keeps wanting you to take pictures of her in different poses...again very humerous

Uncle Dantley hanging with C

Ryan helping me change C

getting packed up to go to Knoxville

I can't believe how fast he went from not wanting to be on his tummy at all...to being able to push up and roll over...

C napping on the boat.

It's funny how fast he also outgrew the bumbo he can pretty much launch himself out of the bumbo already so we are not able to let him hang in there without us supervising very closely

Aunt Cat and C...he was just chilling...this does NOT happend often

Getting ready for bedtime..

Lauren and C hanging out at our house last weekend

Nick and Brad...he loves when we have people over at the house

All my favorite Greenville girls and Jenny!

Jenny came to spend the weekend with us...I mean Crawford loved her and she kept him so entertained....she was just great with him and I loved being with her and having much needed girl time!

Brad and I ....don't remember to take many of these anymore

love the adorable polo outfit Jenny brought for C

Aww he just loves being held by Aunt Jenny
