29 Weeks/4th of July

We have been having a great summer around here. We've both had to work a lot but any free time we have has been spent traveling on the weekends or going downtown as a family. Crawford has just discovered his ears and how to crawl both of which are precious. He now plays with his ears while he eats (quite the multitasker) and he can crawl when he wants to...I can set a toy on one side of the rug and C on the other and he can crawl and get to it--AMAZING...didn't I just have this baby? Never knew this crawling thing would happen so soon! He's not moving all over the place yet (thank goodness because it's time to child proof the house) but he can get to what he wants if he's on the plush carpet or rug. He just won't sit still..I can't even hold him on my hip anymore without him squirming all over the place...I was trying to fill out a paper at the gym and he was knocking over everything on the counter...my water bottle, towel, papers, pens...I have to hold him so tightly so he doesn't squirm out. He is getting too long for his car seat which is hilarious...again I haven't even done my research on convertible car seats but guess it is time to do so...he has enjoyed solids over the past week and has now tried - green beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, green peas, pears, and bananas. He also looooves water so I will be buying some sippy cups so he can learn how to drink out of a cup. We didn't get to do much for the 4th because I had to work a 5 day stretch over the holiday but Cathleen and her friend Melissa came to town and helped watch Crawford and refinished the high chair that we used when we were babies (it's precious!). I am now on a 4 day weekend and we plan to go to downtown alive and enjoy downtown with Crawford and I am just loving spending every minute with Crawford. It's so nice to wake up and just play my day by Crawford's schedule and I love it so much. We are going to join Camille and her girls at the pool tomorrow and then Brad has a surprise getaway planned for Saturday night...Usually I dread leaving C when I am not working even for an hour (because I feel like I miss out on soo much valuable time with him when I work those long 10 hour days ) but I am actually excited for this "surprise" and to really enjoy myself for the first time without him...any other time I have left him has been on Brad's terms and I realllly have struggled with it...however, I am so excited for Saturday and know that Nana and Grandpa as always we just love on him for us! So here a few pictures of our past week----

Hellooooo Brad's twin!

I want to have his 6 month pictures made and while he is finally sitting up unassisted he is now constantly into everything in his surroundings and I am nervous to spend the money for him to not sit still!
mornings in mommy's bed

where he shows off his best crawling skills

Crawford can pick up everything and put it in his mouth...it amazes me how his little self can grab things and pick them up and get them of course to his mouth

Happy 4th of July---I bought these semi-matching outfits last summer and never thought Brad would remember to put these shorts on---but he came down this AM dressed for the occasion!

At the Greenville Drive game---always such a fun way to spend a Saturday night

Brad and I---trying to sneak in a picture...can we say I need a tan

Sissy and I loving every second we have together---she just adores Crawford and never puts him down...he is just going to grow up loving every second with her

We caught up with the Bramhall crew at the game and loved seeing Camille and the girls too

"hey mom just practicing my crawling skills"

so much for my efforts of taking weekly shots with the board displaying his age---I always get confused on his weeks because one baby email will send me something saying he's 28 and the other says 29...guess I should have figured out a better way to keep up with his age!

I never thought he would keep this hat and outfit ensemble on but he rocked it and he looks just presh!

Time for pears!

Sophie----you are our best friend!
