Sutton Day 2

After Sutton's first night of little to no sleep we spent the morning from 5-8 catching a few hours of sleep. Once we woke I fed Sutton and then we ordered room service breakfast. We had visits from respiratory therapist, a heart check-up, the OB, the pediatrician, the hearing test all in the morning. Papa, Aunt Cat and Craw arrived mid morning. We took Sutton on a walk in the hall to get mommy moving and get out and about.

We spent hours just staring at her

I was in a good bit of pain today. The c section (due to additional scar tissue that they cut through the second time) had me experiencing a lot more pain and inflammation. I hardly took any pain medicine the first time and I was taking toradol every 6 hours while in the hospital.
Between visits from the doctors and hanging with the fam we just enjoyed cuddles with Sutton. She was such a doll. She would feed and then just fall asleep.

Since Craw has sucked his fingers the past 3 years and we can't get him to stop we decided we would introduce the paci much earlier this go around. Who knows if she will or won't take it but it sure was adorable to see how calm she got when we put it in her mouth.

Aunt Cat picked us up McAlisters for lunch and we enjoyed a lunch together on the couch while Sutton snoozed

Aunt Cat's specialty is giving baths. She would bathe Sutton for us and then get her all cute and comfy in her pajamas.

Nana and Papa stopped by after work and brought Craw with them. We had tried everything to get Craw to hold you but he was just too busy hamming it up in the room. Finally papa said he would share some ice cream with you if you would sit with your sister. Oh he sure knows the way to your heart because minutes later you were all about holding your sister!

You stayed for awhile before wanting to go home and play with your trains at home. Brad went and got a triple shot of espresso this evening because we were just so certain you would be up all night long again. We found something to watch on tv and we were ready to embrace our second night taking care of you. Well the nurse said she would come in after the last feeding of the night and said she needed to give you your hepatitis B vaccine and give 5 dots of blood for PKU testing and a vial of blood to test your bilirubin levels. You clutched my finger soo tight but only cried at the immediate pinch of the shot. After that you were out...You slept for 5 hours an were so peaceful!
