Hilton Head 2014

We switched things up this year and went to Hilton Head instead of Kiawah. Crawford really understood that we were going to beach this year and he had talked about it for weeks. He couldn't wait to be with Hope, Carter, Nana, and Papa all week long. He was so excited for the beach and the pool. The first day he was confused and kept calling the ocean the beach "mommy lets get in the beach." He soon figured out that the ocean is where all the waves were. He looooved the ocean. He loved riding bikes. He loved the beach. He loved his cousins. I was nervous with us taking our 6 week old on vacation. We woke up at 3:30 am and after feeding her and packing up we left around 6:30 am. We made it the whole way without a peep. Once we arrived the kids couldn't get on the beach fast enough. We spend the afternoon grocery shopping and getting settled. Over the next week we spent our days mostly the same. Brad and I wake up with Sutton around 6:30-7. Make coffee and entertain her. Everyone else wake up between 8-9:30. Papa cooked breakfast almost every day (bacon, eggs, grits, and pancakes). After breakfast, everyone would get ready for the beach. I would feed Sutton and get her down for a nap. By 11, thanks to the sweetest Papa (who volunteered to stay inside with her each morning), I would head to the beach and meet everyone. We would stay until close to 1 pm. Then we would all make sandwiches. Sutton would wake up soon after and I would feed her. Then we would either spend the afternoons riding bikes or the kids would go out back and play in the pool. We went to dinner all but 2 nights around 5:30 and Sutton did pretty well overall. We enjoyed some delicious seafood. After dinner we would walk on the beach and watch the kids run wild. It was such a nice new routine for us and we really had the absolute best time!

Hope just adores Sutton and if she is awake she always wants to be holding her or talking to her!

The kids all shared a room this year. They had the whole upstairs. It was a giant room with 3 queen beds. The kids had trains, books, tents and had the best time being wild up there!
No naps for Craw this week--he kept up with all the excitement that beach week offers and hardly ever slowed down!

Sutton had her normal baths in the sink and loved it per usual!

Hope and Carter are always so sweet to Sutton...they always come and talk to her and touch her. Meanwhile...Crawford is never anywhere to be found...too busy playing!

The kids loved making sand castles and digging with shovels in the sand
Brad always carried the kids in the trailer. They would sing loud and carry on back there!
Dinner time with the munchkins

Leaving the Black Marlin (delicious dinner)
Having fun out on the beach!

Sutton's first visit to the beach!

We loved the evenings on the beach.

They loved being able to go back out the beach and play tag

Oh they loved the construction cars on the beach and played with them every day!
Rare family photo on the beach!

Papa is so sweet with Sutton. he would always pop her paci back in and settle her down so nicely.

Craw being sweet and giving daddy kisses

bath and toothbrushing time (his least favorite time of the day. He was always trying to escape and find the cousins)

The kids played with Brad and Bobby the whole time. Building castles and riding boogy boards in the ocean

The kids also loved playing UNO with papa. I am not sure they understood how to play but they made up their own rules!
