New Orleans Weekend

We spent last weekend in New Orleans for my Godfather's daughter's wedding. It was great to be back and see some fam and have some fun! We got there Friday and headed straight to R&O's (our absolute favorite New Orleans restaurant). Then we headed to Lakeside Mall to do some Christmas shopping. We arrived at the hotel (Westin @ Canal Place) and got changed for the rehearsal dinner. We headed over to Acme Oyster house and had a great time seeing everyone and eating chargrilled oysters, jambalaya, red beans and rice, shrimp, gumbo, muffalettas. We visited with the bride and fam and then headed out to Bourbon St. for a late night affair.

Brad just loves that he can walk around with an open container and order a drink to-go.

I love this picture of sissy and I- we were having so much fun

Bourbon Street

Brad and I closed down the piano bar literally and haven't stayed out that late in ages.

The next morning we headed to the River Walk for some shopping. (We love taking pictures with crayfish -as it's part of our inspiration for Crawford's name and we hope to show him all his great crayfish gear we collect over the years for him)

Beignets at Cafe du Monde---deeeelish

Our favorite saying all over town was a crayfish sitting by a pot and the logo would say "say no to pot" --again a spoof on our halloween costume for Craw and we had fun venturing in and out of the touristy shops.

Time for the wedding---it was quite the wedding. The evening started with motorcade led by 4 policemen on motorcycles--it was nuts! We were literally driving down the middle of the road (where the cable cars run) and everyone on the streets were staring at the 7+ buses and limos heading to the church

The wedding was beautiful

Bride and groom's first dance

the groom's cake--it was huge!

Brad having fun

And then the reason for the trip--to see my amazing Aunt Marion and Uncle Terry! We just can't say enough wonderful things about what great hosts they made. They are always looking out for the best interest of others and really put on an amazing weekend. It was wonderful to see them!
